Braised Porkchops with onions
For years, this was one of the only ways I would eat pork chops.
6 lean pork chops
3 tb soy sauce
1 ts sugar
1 tb pale dry sherry
1 ts flour
3 tb oil
3 medium onions, shredded
2 tb cold water
trim fat from chops. pound them flat. combine 2 tb of soy sauce, sugar &
wine and pour over pork chops. sprinkle chops with flour. heat oil. add
chops and cook 2 minutes on each side. remove. stir fry onions until
translucent. add chops, remaining soy sauce and water. cover. reduce heat to
low and cook undisturbed for 20 minutes
